The second graders in Dana Leonard and Katie Eklund’s classes at Northeast School are now published authors.

Each class created a book of All-Stars, with each student selecting, researching, drawing a picture of, and writing a page about a person he or she considers to be a hero. The All-Stars selected range from George Washington and Martin Luther King Jr. to Tom Brady and Justin Bieber.

The two second-grade classes threw a combined book publishing part of Dec. 11, when they had a chance to read their pages aloud to their classmates and teachers in attendance.

The “All-Star” theme of the book coincides with Northeast’s “All-Star” theme for the school year.
